Saucony Triumph 24 Review

Over the past 5 years, the Saucony Triumph never seemed to hit its mark in the high cushion market.  This was no fault on Saucony’s end as they did try to innovate and change the model to compete.  Unfortunately, other brands were also innovating and finding their stride in the premium cushion market.  It was a rough few models that the Saucony Triumph went through but the newest version has completely changed that narrative.

So far, Saucony’s Triumph 24 has been an incredible update.  From a shoe that didn’t seem to understand itself, this year’s model provides one of the most comfortable foams we have seen in quite some time.  The new IncredLUX foam is incredibly bouncy, so much so that it might almost be too much bounce.  Is there even such a thing?  The upper has also been updated for a more secure fit and breathable upper.  Let’s dive a little deeper into the Saucony Triumph 24’s updates and how it compares to last year’s model.

What’s New in the Saucony Triumph 24?

From a shoe without an identity to one that radiates confidence, the Saucony Triumph 24 has made a splash by changing the foam from PWRRUN PB to their new foam, IncredLUX.  This foam helps bring the soft, springy feel to a model that wasn’t the softest in the past.  Some might worry that the foam will break down quickly from the softness but Saucony has done an exceptional job at crafting a long lasting sole.  On the other hand, this much cushion and bounce can be a lot for some customers.  We at Dave’s have found that some runners/walkers who tend to supinate (when the foot excessively rolls outwards) end up having worse supination due to the softness of the IncredLUX foam.  It’s a small issue but one worth mentioning.

The upper has also seen a complete overhaul.  One of the biggest complaints about last year’s Triumph, the 23rd version, was that it wasn’t breathable.  Saucony listened to the feedback and fixed the breathability issue by loosening the upper’s knit.  They also gave more volume and width to the toebox to allow for a more accommodating fit.  In addition to these updates, Saucony reshaped the heel collar too.  They made it fit for a more narrow heel and created an even better lock down feel.  The shape is similar to last year’s model but with a better design and materials. So far, the Saucony Triumph 24 has performed well and we have had little complaints when pulling the shoe for our customers.  If you are curious about the new Triumph 24 and want to see all the changes for yourself, stop by your local Dave’s Running Shop and try the new Saucony Triumph 24!

Saucony Triumph 24 Fit and Sizing

There have been no complaints about the fit or sizing of the Saucony Triumph 24.  Customers seem to appreciate the true to size feel.  The fit, however, does have a tendency to work better for those with a narrow heel rather than a wider heel.  Outside of that, the fit is splendid. Compared to the Saucony Triumph 23, the 24th version is more accommodating and breathable. If you had issues with the older versions of the Triumph, we recommend trying this year’s model. The fit is great and sizing is true to size.

Saucony Triumph 24 Performance Review: On the Run

Whether you are looking to complete your first marathon or need a recovery shoe after a hard workout, the Saucony Triumph 24 fits the premium cushion trainer to a tee.  It is everything you want when it comes to a high cushion daily trainer by providing one of the most comfortable foams a foot could land on.  While some may find it too squishy, the Saucony Triumph 24 holds up great for daily miles and longer runs.  On top of an already amazing midsole, the upper fits snug.  It’s not overbearing either, the heel collar clamps down to provide a structured yet plush feel.  The toe box is spacious but not expansive.

Our wear testers at Dave have found great use and benefit from the Saucony’s Triumph 24.  Whether it is used for walking around the store for a shift or going for a long run, the Triumph has carved a space for itself into our daily wear.  There haven’t been any real issues either.  The only debate our team has had is if the shoe is too soft.  This high cushion trainer is stacked high with foam and doesn’t have much of a rocker to help the wearer propel forward.  Again, this isn’t a major problem but if you find yourself enjoying a more responsive feel this might not be your shoe.  We’d recommend something along the lines of a Saucony Ride or Endorphin Speed instead.

Saucony Triumph 24: Compared to Other Models

If you are a shoe geek like us, you’d know that the running shoe market has seen a major swing to high cushion running shoes for the past few years.  With premium cushion options being the standard for the industry, it’s important to know how different models compare to one another.  For this section we will be comparing Saucony’s Triumph 24 to similar options like the Hoka Bondi 9, Asic’s Gel-Nimbus 28, and the New Balance More v6.  Here is our breakdown.

The Final Verdict

To conclude this review, the Saucony Triumph 24 is the biggest surprise of 2026 so far.  The shoe has done a complete 180 and confidently stepped into the shoe it was always meant to be.  It can go toe to toe with any other high cushion trainer on the market and gives a more lively feel then some.  A round of applause for Saucony as well.  Though there was turmoil with this model, they stuck with it and the result is well worth the hardship.

To anyone still skeptical about the Saucony Triumph 24 we’ll try to ease your worries.  This shoe is not like anything from the past couple of versions.  It’s new, bold, and, most importantly, soft.  The IncredLUX is well worth the praise.  It takes the fun feel of a racing shoe and turns it into a durable daily mile machine.  The upper is nothing to scoff at either.  The remade heel gives an amazing lockdown feel with little to no heel slippage.  Furthermore, the knit upper was designed for breathability in mind so no stinky and sweaty feet here.  If you aren’t convinced just yet, please stop by a Dave’s Running Shop location and ask a sales associate about the Saucony Triumph 24.
