The Women's ASICS Gel-Cumulus 28 is designed to deliver soft cushioning, smooth transitions, and lasting comfort for every mile. Built with FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning and PureGEL™ technology, this versatile neutral running shoe offers a lightweight, responsive ride that's perfect for daily training, long runs, and active lifestyles.

Specifications:

Type: Neutral daily trainer
Weight: 7.9 oz / 223 g
Heel-to-Toe Drop: 8 mm
Stack Height: 37.5 mm (heel) / 29.5 mm (forefoot)
Midsole Cushioning: FF BLAST™ MAX foam for a soft, energetic, and responsive ride
Heel Technology: PureGEL™ technology for enhanced shock absorption
Upper: Engineered jacquard mesh for improved breathability and a secure fit
Outsole: FLUIDRIDE™ outsole material paired with AHAR® LO rubber in the heel area for added traction and durability

Fit Notes:

Length and Size: Generally fits true to size for standard running shoe sizing, though some reviewers note a slightly snug or shorter feel on longer toes over high mileage, making a half-size-up worth considering if you prefer extra wiggle room.
Width and Toe Box: Comes in a standard width (B Medium), with additional narrow (2A) and wide (D) options available through select stockists. The toe box is accommodating and flexible, though a few reviews mention it can feel a bit snug depending on foot shape.
Midfoot and Lockdown: Features a stretchy, gusseted tongue and standard lacing that hugs the midfoot well. Narrow-footed runners may need to pull the laces tight to prevent minor slippage.
Heel Counter: Includes a stiff internal heel counter paired with plush collar padding for a secure rearfoot hold.

Best For:

Heel Strikers & Rearfoot Landers: It features a pronounced heel flare, an 8 mm drop (with generous under-heel foam), and an upgraded PureGEL insert that absorbs impact smoothly during rearfoot strikes.
Daily Mileage & Recovery: The midsole uses FF BLAST MAX foam (replacing older formulations), which provides a softer, bouncier, and more energetic ride than the Cumulus 27 while remaining controlled and stable.
All-Day Comfort & Walking: The plush step-in feel, a flexible engineered mesh upper, and a padded tongue make it a great go-to for standing or walking long hours.
Neutral Runners (with mild support): It is a neutral shoe, though its wide base geometry and stiff heel counter provide enough natural stability for runners with mild pronation.
